Although I am not certain about the pin numbers, I recall that the reset

takes about 7 seconds for the oil service and about 15 for inspection. Try

holding the connection for 8 secs. All the green bars should be lit and the

service light should be out.

There have been many recommendations for people to use a paperclip to reset

their oil/ service indicator lights. That is bad advice, as inserting the

pins into the wrong sockets can FRY YOUR COMPUTER!!!

The guys who say it`s ok haven`t fried their computer - they have been

fortunate. One can either listen to their advice based on their fortunate

experience, or take the precaution to use a tool designed for the specific

purpose.

The parts and tools needed are shown below, or if you prefer I will make the

reset tool for you for $10. plus cost to ship it to you.

Parts:

- Approx 3 feet of 16 gauge wire

- banana clip (inserted into socket)

- 470-Ohm diode

- alligator clip

- shrink tubing (to cover diode and solder point on banana clip)

- solder

Tools needed:

- wire stripper

- soldering iron

- crimp tool

- lighter

If interested in having one made for you at $10. send me an email. Quantity

are available for less.
